Catherine Miller

Artistic Director Catherine Miller has served as music staff with opera companies and Festivals in the United States and Europe, including Los Angeles Opera, The Los Angeles Philharmonic, San Diego Opera, Opera Santa Barbara, Opera Laguna, North Carolina Opera, The Spoleto Festival in Italy, and The Opera Theater and Music Festival of Lucca. Active as a collaborative pianist with classical singers, she has appeared with Angel Blue, Arnold Geis, Orianna Falla, Xavier Prado, Jamie Chamberlin, Nathan Granner, Son-Jin Kim and numerous others. The 2026-2027 season will include serving as music staff for San Diego Operas production of Rigoletto, Opera Santa Barbara’s production of Il Barbiere di Siviglia and appearing in recital with the 2027 winner of the Palm Springs Vocal Competition.

A sought-after vocal competition pianist, Ms. Miller regularly plays for the Loren L Zachary Society Vocal Competition, The Laffont Competition of the Metropolitan Opera, Los Angeles District and the Palm Springs Vocal Competition, where she is also on the Artistic Committee.

As an educator, Ms. Miller is on the staff of the Institute for Young Dramatic Voices under the direction of renowned mezzo soprano Dolora Zajick. She has also been music staff at the International Vocal Arts Academy in Payerbach, Austria and the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival. Catherine holds degrees from both USC and The Juilliard School and was a Fulbright Scholar at the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, Hungary.
